Certified Mold Inspection & Mold Testing Fairfield County CT

A thorough mold inspection is the starting point for any suspected, mold-related issue. Without mold testing, there’s no way to accurately determine how bad your mold problem is – or if one exists at all. A mold inspection in Connecticut will allow us to determine if you have mold, how bad it is, how to properly get rid of it and how to prevent it from returning. If you suspect you have mold in your home, basement, attic or commercial building, or are concerned about black mold or toxic mold, call MasterTech today.

We also offer indoor air quality assessments and will come take air samples to determine if your indoor mold spore levels are higher than they should be. If you are concerned with your indoor air quality, air testing will provide the necessary answers to your mold-related questions.

What To Expect From A Mastertech Mold Inspection:

01

Visual Inspection

A thorough visual inspection is the starting point for every residential or commercial mold assessment. Your mold inspector will be looking for conditions that can promote mold growth.

02

Digital Documentation

Documenting our findings through digital imaging is the easiest way for your mold inspector to relay his or her findings. We’ll take pictures of all the areas of concern so you see exactly what we saw during your mold inspection.

03

Thermal Imaging

Thermal imaging cameras (or infrared cameras) allow us to detect temperature differences in (and often behind) building materials. Why is this important? Because damp or wet building materials are almost always cooler than dry materials – and it’s the temperature difference that the infrared camera detects. It’s an invaluable tool in the detection of moisture sources that cause mold growth.

04

Moisture Mapping

Since mold needs moisture to develop and thrive, finding that source of moisture is very important. Moisture mapping basically allows us to locate building materials that are damp or wet enough to support mold growth. Testing for moisture also helps us determine if water leaks have been resolved or if they are actively leaking and can locate where water damage starts and stops.

05

Airborne Mold Testing

Your mold inspector may need to take air samples to determine if your indoor mold spore levels are higher than they should be.

06

Surface Mold Testing

Is it just water staining, or is it mold? Surface testing with mold swabs or bio tape lifts will answer those questions. In many cases, surface testing isn’t necessary if mold growth is visibly obvious.

07

Inner Wall Mold Testing

When mold is suspected behind a wall or above a ceiling, those areas should be tested. Today’s mold testing technologies and techniques allow mold inspectors to take air and surface samples from wall or ceiling voids without causing unnecessary damage to the property.

08

Mold Inspection Summary Report

Within 48 hours after your home mold inspection, your inspector will compile all of his or her findings and generate an easy to understand mold inspection report.

09

Scope Of Work

If requested, your mold inspector will design a mold remediation plan specific to your property. Your scope of work will include cleanup suggestions as well as preventative measures that are necessary to keep mold from returning.

10

PRV Testing (Post Remediation Verification Testing)

Also referred to as clearance testing. This is a mold inspection after the remediation is complete. Since we’re removing a bio hazard, It’s important to know that the job was done right – the first time. PRV Testing will determine if cleanup efforts were successful or if further cleanup is necessary.
